Throughout history, prayers and singular powerful words have been imbedded into beautiful and purposeful wearable adornment to be carried for protection, power and love.

The whole concept of my work in jewelry for 25 years is based on these studies of Talisman, prayer boxes, marks and symbolism and their purpose and beautiful construction.

Day 1-Bezel setting

In this hands on workshop, you will build and strengthen soldering skills using fundamental metalworking techniques to build a box bezel out of sterling silver filigree wire, traditional bezel wire or chose from a selection of bezel wire that works with Setting your druze stone.

Learn soldering techniques using hard, medium and EZ solder to build layers of attachment in your work. Learn practical metal cleanup and polish in brazing, filing, sanding and finishing to create a small wearable piece and leather and attachments. Use my meathod of patinas to create a brushed steel vibe or chose your own. Also, an option to fill your bezel with resin in class to complete your project.

Kit includes sterling silver sheet, filigree wire, 16 gauge round wire,use of flux, solders

I will provide non asbestos soldering blocks, butane gas and torches, solder, flux, soldering picks, paintbrush, patinas, small metal file, pickle pot, sand paper, flexible shaft, drill bits

Day 2 and 3 Boxes and Mark Making

In this workshop learn the practical skills of soldering and brazing a small closed box form in silver to build a pendant or earrings, as time allows, as well as keeping intention and embedding your personal and powerful Talismans that can be worn for protection and intention.

Next, use your shapes and marks to build extension of sterling silver of 16 gauge silver wire and fiber to complete.

Techniques to be covered include soldering with hard, medium and EZ solder, sweat soldering, building a hollow form, piercing with jewelers saw, clean up and finish work

Kit includes sterling silver 20 gauge sheet, bezels wire, 16 gauge silver wire

Please bring- chain and round nose pliers, wire snips, small flat file 01 or similar, jewelers saw, 03 blade (or close), bench pin, awl
Extra tools- optional-magnifiers, small non asbestos soldering pad, tweezers, torch head
I will provide butane gas, torch heads, flux, solder, annealing pan, paint brush
